BuggyStrides is not just about losing the
pregnancy weight...it's
about being with your baby in an active and healthy environment
with other women, working to keep up with the physical and
emotional demands of being a Mum.
What is BuggyStrides?
BuggyStrides is designed to give new mums and their babies
a fun and safe way to exercise.
Our session will include energetic walking with your buggies
combined with toning, strengthening and stretching exercises
to target those major 'mummy muscles'. We use the buggies
and outdoor amenities such as railings and park benches for
support throughout the class.
The exercises are specifically geared to targeting major
muscle groups of a woman who just had a baby. We work such
areas as the tummy, back and chest, combined with power walking
and stretching. There is an emphasis on posture and
core strength throughout the class to help Mums regain their
pre-pregnancy shape.
When can I start?
You can start BuggyStrides once you receive clearance from
your healthcare provider after giving birth - normally at
6 weeks for a vaginal delivery and 8 weeks for a cesarean.
BuggyStrides is for Mums of all fitness levels. Even if you have never exercised
before, this is a great place to start. With one to one coaching and support
from your BuggyStrides instructor you will feel the benefits from a very early stage.
Babies can take classes up to any age so long as they still
enjoy a ride in the buggy.
Generally, if your baby or toddler is content in a moving
buggy for 1 hour, you should have no problem participating
in classes. The general age range is 6 weeks to 2 years. Benefits
